Mood booster: You won't regret adding LEGO content to your feed
What's more relaxing than watching a brick-by-brick build?
Welcome to Gen Z Translator, where I break down trending topics Fridays at 10 a.m. Eastern. If you’re new, you can subscribe here and follow me on X/Twitter. Happy reading!
Ever feel like your social media feeds are too serious? Well, I have a cure for that.
I’ll proudly admit that I’m an adult LEGO fan. I mean, come on. Forget age. They’re fun, versatile, and nostalgic. Didn’t we all dream about becoming expert-level builders when we grew up?
Brick-by-brick builds have the same appeal to me that ASMR1 has to other people. So, I thought I’d share to spread the wealth.
Some of the coolest LEGO accounts popping up in my feed right now are run by adults. Who else can build a live-action tennis court?
I happen to possess almost every set from LEGO’s Botanical Collection, which is specifically targeted at adults. It’s brought me the same sense of joy as it did in my childhood and also serves a decorative function. I do show them off on occasion. The company has done a great job at growing up with their fans, providing entertainment for young and old alike.
@Preston_Builds is a father-son duo creating their own LEGO city. Preston’s dad isn’t afraid to tap into his own love for the trade, showing off cool sets like this minifigure display case.
Maybe I’m the only one on this side of the Internet. Either way, I had to share. I mean, come on. A mini LEGO extension cord?? What could be more wholesome than that?
If you do happen to be excited about LEGOS, too, you should check out LEGO SHOWOFF on Facebook Groups. I highly recommend the company’s art sets for people looking for something both fun to build and practical. LEGO also launched their Insect Collection last month if you want to join the buzz 🐝
My weekly roundup:
🎶 What I’m Listening To: killing boys by Halsey. Happy Halloween!
🔎 What I’m Reading: Percy Jackson and the Chalice of the Gods by Rick Riordan
📱 What I’m Scrolling: #TavernTok…
(P.S. There will be no newsletter next week. Watch LEGO videos while I’m gone).
ASMR: Video or audio content meant to soothe with close-to-the-mic noises. Think spsssspsss. (This entry is dedicated to Emily Garcia).
